Teeth grinding in Tucson, Arizona, also known as bruxism, is a harmful and destructive habit that can alter your oral health by fracturing, breaking, and wearing down your teeth. It can also cause problems with the jaw. This is why our Corona Dental team strongly recommends avoiding this habit at all costs. However, we understand how tricky that can be. So, to help you quit grinding your teeth, we recommend doing the following things:

Reduce your stress: Oftentimes, teeth grinding is a result of stress, which is why we recommend reducing your stress by exercising, attending stress counseling, seeing a physical therapist, or taking relaxation medication.

Wear a mouthguard: To lessen the effects of teeth grinding, you can wear a mouthguard. Mouthguards are beneficial appliances that cover your teeth and protect them from injury. If you wear a guard, your teeth will not touch and they will not be able to damage one another.

Adjust your lifestyle: There are some lifestyle changes you can make that can help you. Those changes are: avoid drinking alcohol, cut back on caffeine, train yourself not to clench your jaw, try relaxation techniques, and do not chew on pens, pencils, or anything that is not food.
